Process

How the measurement works

The measurement is fully automatic, contact-free and harmless to health. You stand for about 30 seconds on a platform that turns once through 360 degrees. Cameras record your body while LIDAR sensors measure it at 14 measuring points.

This creates a virtual 3D avatar that reproduces your whole body very precisely – unlike many cameras and mirrors, without distortion.

What the scan measures

The avatar comes with an understandable overview of your body values. The scan classifies the measured values by sex and age using scientific reference data; a colour scale shows your status for seven important values at a glance.

  1. Weight and body fatHow much you weigh – and what share of it is fat.
  2. BMIThe body mass index: your weight in relation to your height.
  3. WHtRThe ratio of waist circumference to height – it takes into account where the fat is located.
  4. Body measurementsWaist, hips and other circumferences, measured on the avatar – always at the same points.
  5. Fat-free mass and basal metabolic rateWhat your body consists of besides fat and how many calories it burns at rest.
  6. Posture and balanceHow you stand and how you distribute weight on your feet.

The national obesity centre of Weight Doctors® – in Wertheim am Main

The Nationalklinik Wertheim is the heart of Weight Doctors®: as the only location, it brings the entire range of treatment together in one place. How to find us in Wertheim

Rotkreuzstraße 2, 97877 Wertheim

  • By car

    Follow the A3 towards Würzburg/Munich. Leave the motorway at Wertheim/Marktheidenfeld and turn right towards Kreuzwertheim/Wertheim. After approx. 8 km, continue over the large roundabout and the Spessartbrücke to Wertheim. Follow the signs for “Krankenhaus” – the Nationalklinik is at Rotkreuzstraße 2. Parking is available at the roadside and on the hospital grounds, for low fees.

  • By train & public transport

    From Wertheim station or the central bus station (ZOB), take bus line 975, which departs directly from the station forecourt. The journey takes approx. 13 minutes – the bus stops right in front of the hospital.

  • From Frankfurt Airport (FRA)

    Wertheim is around 95 kilometres south-east of Frankfurt/Main Airport on the A3 – a good hour by car, longer depending on traffic. If you hire a car, follow the A3 towards Würzburg to the Wertheim/Marktheidenfeld exit. On request, we arrange a shuttle service from Frankfurt Airport directly to the Nationalklinik (for an additional charge).

Two scans are part of the treatment: at the start and during the course of your therapy. In the Weight Doctors® MEMBERSHIP, there are up to two a year, depending on availability at our locations.

What does the 3D Bodyscan cost?

Do I take my results home?

Yes. On request, you receive your scans as a PDF and as an animated video.
