Our aim is to combat excess weight as a global health problem: with specialists at your side and a plan that suits your body – from nutrition consultation and drug therapy through endoscopic stomach reduction to bariatric surgery.

    Our specialists were chief physicians or senior consultants at large clinics. Before every treatment, the specialist adviser, the treating specialist and an anaesthetist experienced in obesity medicine each give their approval – the six-eyes principle.

From 2007 to today.

  1. 2007

    • The beginning: the gastric balloon

      The Weight Doctors® team treats with the gastric balloon – placed by the natural route and removed again without residue. Today the Weight Doctors® GASTRIC BALLOON.

  2. 2017

    • Non-surgical stomach reduction

      With the endo sleeve (pose® 3.0 Double Helix), endoscopic stomach reduction is added – today the Weight Doctors SLEEVE®. Over 5,000 patients have received an endo sleeve.

  3. 2020

    • The first locations

      The Weight Doctors® brand is born – with locations in Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Wertheim, Wiesbaden and Aachen.

  4. 2021

    • Weight Doctors BARIATRICS®

      With gastric sleeve and gastric bypass, we also offer obesity surgery operations.

    • Weight Doctors® grows

      Nuremberg, Munich and Berlin are added, with Johannesburg the first location in South Africa.

  5. 2022

    • Lead Surgeons and Top Recommendation

      Prof. Dr. med. Karl Miller and Prof. Dr. Jan Willem Greve become Lead Surgeons for the Weight Doctors SLEEVE®. On ProvenExpert, the series of “Top Recommendation” awards begins – five times in a row up to 2026.

    • Weight Doctors® in the Netherlands

      The first location in the Netherlands, in Eindhoven, plus Heidelberg and Cape Town.

  6. 2023

    • Weight Doctors® Nederland

      Since January 2023, a fully licensed private clinic in Waalre has belonged to the Weight Doctors Group – home and headquarters of Weight Doctors Nederland.

    • Weight Doctors® in London

      The first location in the United Kingdom, plus Stuttgart and Hanover.

  7. 2024

    • Weight Doctors® Nationalklinik

      The heart in Wertheim: the entire range of treatment in one place – for patients with statutory insurance, privately insured patients and self-paying patients.

    • Weight Doctors® in Salzburg

      The first location in Austria, plus Freiburg, Frankfurt and Leipzig.

  8. 2025

    • Weight Doctors® in South Africa

      Pretoria and Alberton are added.

    • Visit by the Federal Health Minister

      Federal Health Minister Nina Warken visits Wertheim – the location of the Weight Doctors® Nationalklinik in the focus of regional healthcare.

  9. 2026

    • New: Weight Doctors® hydroGMA

      Endoscopic, without an incision – on its own or combined with the Weight Doctors SLEEVE®.
