Yes. In Dortmund, we advise you, clarify the requirements with you and support you in aftercare. The procedure is carried out by specialist doctors from Weight Doctors® – usually as an outpatient: after a short period of monitoring, most patients can return home or to their hotel on the same day.

Before the procedure there is a detailed medical consultation and a medical examination. We review your history, clarify whether the procedure is suitable for you and fits your target weight, choose the technology – pose® 3.0 or OverStitch NXT™ – and draw up your individual treatment plan.

There are two endoscopic methods to choose from: OverStitch NXT™ reduces the stomach with sutures and is nickel-free, pose® 3.0 Double Helix reduces it by folding tissue. Both manage without an external incision.

The method is endoscopic and manages without external incisions. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, and downtime is short as a rule – which can be particularly important for people with work or family responsibilities. After the healing phase, you do not have to take medication permanently. If things go well, lasting side effects generally do not occur; your specialist will discuss the risks with you in detail beforehand.

Aftercare includes regular follow-up checks, the Weight Doctors® App with a Bluetooth scale and, if you wish, nutrition counselling. Much of it runs conveniently digitally via the app, supplemented by appointments on site in Dortmund.

The Weight Doctors SLEEVE® for endoscopic stomach reduction is available from €5,500 – with either OverStitch NXT™ or pose® 3.0 Double Helix. Depending on your needs, the packages range from the basic version to the Extended Sleeve PLUS with GLP-⁠1 support. The price includes private medical preliminary examination and aftercare with medical consultation, the procedure, 12 months of the Weight Doctors® App with digital coaching, Bluetooth smart scales and two 3D Bodyscans (at selected locations).

As a rule, stomach reduction is an option from a BMI of approx. 30, especially if other attempts to lose weight have been unsuccessful. In medically justified cases, treatment can take place from a BMI of 27–28. What matters is your overall state of health and your personal goal.

The three versions of the Weight Doctors SLEEVE® are designed for weight-loss goals of up to around 50 kg. How much you actually lose depends on your starting weight, the change in diet, exercise and aftercare – results vary from person to person.

The Allurion gastric balloon is swallowed as a capsule, with no procedure at all, and stays for approx. 4 months. The gastric balloon for 6 months is placed endoscopically. The adjustable Spatz3 gastric balloon stays for up to 12 months; its fill volume can be adjusted during therapy. Which model fits is something we choose together with you according to your goals and medical circumstances.

It starts with a detailed consultation and a medical examination. You swallow the Allurion balloon as a capsule; the balloons for 6 and 12 months are placed on an outpatient basis via gastroscopy, which takes approx. 20–30 minutes. After a short period of observation you can leave again. The balloon fills part of the stomach, so you can feel full sooner and eat less. Nutritional advice and the Weight Doctors® App support you along the way.

As a rule, you are fit to work and socialise again after 2–3 days. In the first week, mild nausea or a feeling of fullness can occur, which usually subside quickly. Personal coaching and the Weight Doctors® App support the change in diet.

The diet is built up in stages and supported by personal nutrition coaching: in week 1 liquid (clear broths, water, soups), in week 2 puréed (soft purées, yoghurt, puréed vegetables), in week 3 soft food (rice, fish, soft-cooked vegetables) and from week 4 a protein-rich, balanced normal diet.

Especially for people with a BMI of approx. 27 to 40. The gastric balloon can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in preparation for surgery and is suitable as an entry into long-term weight reduction – even if you have not considered surgery so far.

The models are designed for different weight-loss goals: the Allurion gastric balloon for up to 10 kg, the gastric balloon for 6 months for up to 20 kg and the balloon for 12 months for up to 30 kg. How much it will be for you depends on your starting weight and on how consistently you change your diet – results vary from person to person.

A gastric balloon is available from €3,490 – depending on the model as the swallowable Allurion gastric balloon, as the gastric balloon for 6 months or as the adjustable Spatz3 gastric balloon for 12 months. The price includes the medical consultation, placement and removal of the balloon, medical care with check-up appointments throughout the entire treatment and access to the Weight Doctors® App with digital coaching.

For the Weight Doctors SLEEVE® and for operations, there is a chance of cost coverage by German health insurance with a medical indication in line with the guidelines – decisive factors include BMI, related conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure or sleep apnoea, and previous therapies. The gastric balloon is a self-pay service; its costs may be tax-deductible as an extraordinary burden – more in the tax benefit calculator.

Yes, via our financing partner medipay. You choose the term yourself, up to 72 months; you submit the application entirely online. For the gastric balloon, monthly instalments from approx. €50 are possible.
